Fifty Miler With Hills – BionicOldGuy
I discussed just lately that I signed up for the Sacramento century in October, so it is time to ramp up my mileage. Today my group was doing a 27 mile experience within the hill East of Gilroy, beginning on the Mendoza Ranch entrance to Harvey Bear park, which they drove to. I made a decision to begin early and experience their as an alternative, so that bumped my mileage as much as 50, which took 4 hours. This was much more climbing than I’ve been used to, however happily I’ve and 11×42 cassette on my Sirrus bike now, which helps with the steep stuff. It felt nice, and I wasn’t too drained after.
I’m going to be doing the century on my recumbent, so that’s what I’m using most days, besides hillier days like this one the place I take my Sirrus (upright street bike).
